Note – we meet over the summer

Toastmaster meetings provide members the opportunity to learn how to formulate, express and sell their ideas with poise and confidence. Members improve their ability to listen and evaluate other’s ideas. They learn leadership skills along the way.

During club meetings you will build “quick thinking” skills as you give one to two minute speeches on general subjects during Table Topics. You will introduce speaker, conduct meetings and perform other roles that give you plenty of practice in a variety of communications experiences. Your greatest learning will come from preparing and presenting speeches based on projects in the various manuals. Most speeches are 5 – 7 minutes.

The third meeting of each month is dedicated to a business meeting and educational program from Toastmasters International Better Series, Successful Club Series or Leadership Excellence Series.  These meetings will usually include an extended Table Topics Session.

New members receive a variety of manuals and resources on speaking including the “Toastmaster,” a monthly magazine that offers the latest insights on speaking and leadership techniques.

We ***videotape*** most of the speeches and provide digital copies for our members. This gives the speaker valuable feedback.
